Patient-Centered Cancer Care: The Power of Generosity

Facing a cancer diagnosis can be one of the scariest moments of your life. You would want to know that you’re receiving the best treatment possible and that you’ll have individualized, whole-person care— designed just for you. The Dorcy Cancer Center is the third-largest community cancer center in Colorado, serving people from Colorado, Kansas, and New Mexico.

When supporters like you join us with gifts through St. Mary-Corwin Hospital Foundation, they help the Dorcy Cancer Center at St. Mary- Corwin Hospital provide exactly that: world renowned, patient-centered cancer care for our friends, family, and neighbors in Southern Colorado. Right here, close to home.

All the programs have been so beneficial to me as a patient and survivor.

Thanks to our community’s generous contributions, our Foundation provides the following programs and services for the Dorcy Cancer Center and its patients.

Patient Needs Fund

This fund provides more than $1 million in suppor t to Dorcy Cancer Center patients and families each year, helping cover the costs of advanced treatments, prescriptions, travel, and lodging. This direct support eases our patients’ journey from discovery to survivorship, so that they can focus exclusively on healing.

Therapy Programs

Art therapy and integrative therapy programs have been shown to help decrease the distress that often accompanies a cancer diagnosis. These programs, supported by Foundation funds, help oncology patients journey towards emotional and physical healing by focusing on mindfulness, self-expression, coping skills, strength, and reflexology.

Equipment Fund

At the Dorcy Cancer Center, patients will find state-of-the art technology that helps our leading oncology physicians provide individualized care. This innovative equipment would not exist without the incredible contributions of  our donors who are committed to world-class cancer care.

Retreats & Celebrations

The Foundation helps fund and  host regular survivor celebrations and annual retreats. These events provide a nurturing environment where patients and survivors can share their experiences, build new friendships, and exchange information about vital resources—from free wigs and support groups to yoga classes and spiritual care.
