Sacred Spaces Project

CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with Dillard’s Department Stores located in Fashion Place (Murray), Newgate Mall (Ogden), Layton Hills Mall (Layton), and University Place (Orem) from October 17th through October 19th and December 5th through 7th.

Dillard's LogoDuring these shopping days, 10% of the daily sale proceeds will go to support spiritual care and sacred spaces for our five Holy Cross Hospitals in Salt Lake City, Davis, Jordan Valley, Jordan Valley West, and Mountain Point. These funds will be used to create chapel spaces, chapel renovations, rose garden enhancements, and other areas of spiritual care.

Spaces for prayer and reflection are important in healthcare.  They provide a place of sanctuary and solitude. They help reduce stress and anxiety. They provide a space to find strength in their shared faith, spiritual practices, coping mechanisms and enhanced healing.

Research has shown that patients who draw upon their spiritual beliefs often experience greater resilience and a sense of meaning and purpose, which can positively influence their overall quality of life. Patients that feel spiritually supported may experience better overall health outcomes, a smoother recovery.

Healthcare facilities that offer chapels, prayer spaces or outdoor gardens receive higher ratings of patient satisfaction. Patients, their families, and hospital caregivers appreciate having access to resources that address their spiritual and emotional needs, in addition to their physical ones.

We look forward to highlighting and celebrating these spaces full of rich history, priceless religious artifacts, and spiritual importance with your support through these shopping fundraising events.

Thank you!
