Another Successful Flight For Life® Golf Tournament!
Thank you to all who joined us on May 20, 2024, for the Flight For Life® Colorado Golf Tournament! More than 130 guests gathered at the Pueblo Country Club to play, dine and enjoy the competition — all in support of the dedicated crew members who stand ready to save lives, on the ground and in the sky. We are pleased to share that proceeds from the event raised more than $42,000!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and participants, these contributions will directly benefit the Flight For Life Lifeguard 4 helicopter and the ambulance housed at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital — which serve our St. Mary-Corwin and St. Thomas More communities across Southern Colorado, including Pueblo and Fremont County.
At the tournament, we had the privilege of hearing Flight For Life's Program Director, Kathy Mayer, MS, RN, reflect on one of this year's most memorable transports: "In March, a car crossed the median on I-25 and was struck head-on by a semi tractor trailer at high speed. The driver was trapped inside the burning car, and he suffered many severe injuries. When our Lifeguard 4 helicopter arrived on the scene, crew members were able to insert IV fluids, administer pain medication and start oxygen right away. We transported the patient to a trauma center in Colorado Springs via a 36-minute flight, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. His story is just one of the more than 500 patients flown this year by Lifeguard 4. We are so grateful to our supporters who enable us to deliver life and limb-saving care like this." Flight For Life® Colorado has been serving Coloradans since 1972, always regardless of ability to pay. We depend 100% on private donations, and we need your help to sustain this service for many more years to come.
