Dick is a semi-retired attorney, currently serving as Senior Counsel to the law firm of Lyons Gaddis. He and his wife, Jody, moved to Longmont in 1979. Both have been active in the community and in various non-profit organizations.

Dick has served on the Board of Directors for Longmont United Hospital, including two years as Chair. He is an active Rotarian and has served on the Board of Directors of Longmont Rotary and as a member of the Longmont Rotary Foundation. He has also served as Senior Warden of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Chair of the Foundation of the Boulder County Bar Association, a Trustee of the Colorado Bar Association, and Chair of the Boulder County Election Review Commission, as well as serving on several other civic and community boards and commissions. For 20 years, Dick has served as a volunteer international election observer representing the U.S. Department of State. Dick is a U.S. Army veteran. He and Jody have two adult children and three grandchildren.
