The Wilz Trauma Symposium was started over twenty years ago by the medical staff at St. Mary-Corwin to honor Dr. Bill Wilz who served as the Trauma Director for St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center until his death in 1999.

Sisters of Charity Patient Financial Assistance
St. Mary-Corwin Hospital is committed to providing excellent health care to all our patients, regardless of their financial well-being. Those eligible for assistance are experiencing a serious financial crisis that impedes their ability to meet their financial obligation to the hospital or interferes with their discharge or long-term care plans.

The SMC Hospital Support Fund
This fund supports the requests as identified by hospital leadership in cooperation with the Foundation to meet urgent needs – especially not planned—for the hospital in support of funding to programs and services to include, but not limited to, capital equipment, education, supplies, training, patient, and associate assistance.
SMC Orthopedics Growth Fund
This fund is for the purposes of support for orthopedics programs and services growth at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital including but not limited to capital and programmatic funding. Support includes funding to include but not limited to: joint and spine and overall general orthopaedics, sports medicine and trauma support.
Greatest Equipment Needs
This fund reflects the support and funds to be spent on any area of “greatest equipment needs” at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital determined by Foundation leadership, with executive support and approved by the board.

This fund reflects the support and funds to be spent on any area of “greatest need” at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital determined by Foundation leadership, with executive support and approved by the board.
Employee Financial Assistance Program Fund
This fund is for the purposes of providing financial assistance to employees of St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. Associate financial assistance should be allocated per the policies set out by the Foundation. The purpose is to assist employees in need of emergency financial assistance during financial difficulties resulting from a personal crisis or major life event.
