Making an Impact in Cañon City

C-ARM - top photo - Chapel - bottom photo. Both at St. Thomas More Hospital. On behalf of St. Thomas More Hospital Foundation, the following application requests have been reviewed and approved for implementation in support of St. Thomas More Hospital:

  • Enhancing safety and security in St. Thomas More Hospital’s Emergency Department, we disbursed $32,960 to the Emergency Department and Administration team. This funding will provide heightened camera coverage, an upgraded admissions area, and a more functional triage area with increased access to the waiting room. It will also allow the department to install new flooring, more badge readers and a safer door swing for the behavioral health room.

  • Thanks to $12,340 in funding from our Foundation, St. Thomas More Hospital’s Chapel will be repainted and refurbished with new flooring, new furniture and updated resources. Resources for the pastoral team to share with patients and staff include Care Notes, a variety of booklets to provide real-life guidance and a grief library. These much-needed updates will allow our chaplain staff to create a calm, peaceful and inviting environment where patients and their families can rest when seeking comfort, guidance and spiritual direction.

  • The Foundation also shared a $141,900 disbursement to our Hospital’s Imaging Department, funding a new C-arm to accommodate procedural needs. Thanks to this equipment upgrade, our care teams can more seamlessly and efficiently perform high-quality imaging procedures for our patients.

These initiatives are only possible because of donors like you. Thank you for your faithful generosity and continued partnership!
