Making history with innovative surgery

On September 2, 2025, Dr. William Howarth, Orthopedic Surgeon, performed the first nickel­and cement-free knee revision of its kind at St. Francis Hospital - Interquest.  This is a significant milestone in addressing the unique needs of our patients. Dr. Howarth shared that 20% of patients who have a total knee replacement continue to have pain after the surgery - often because of their sensitivity to cement or nickel. This new surgery helps our neighbors get back to the life they love, pain-free.
