The Support Fund: Ensuring Exceptional Care in Colorado Springs
Our Penrose and St. Francis Hospitals have a long and celebrated history serving our neighbors in the Colorado Springs region. The needs in our growing city are great, and we strive to provide life-changing and lifesaving services to all in our care. The Penrose-St. Francis Hospital Foundation exists to help support our hospitals, care teams and patients with their greatest needs, from capital equipment, education, supplies and training to patient and employee assistance.
That’s why we created the Support Fund, a unique fund that exists to give our hospital leadership the flexibility to meet urgent needs—especially those that may not have been planned. Just last year, we were able to rely on the flexibility of available funds when we needed to:
- Upgrade neurosurgical equipment, improving accuracy of care and expanding treatment options for patients
- Improve security systems for our convent
- Replace broken and worn-out furniture for patients and guests of our John Zay Guest House
When you give to the Support Fund, you provide us with the flexibility to respond to these kinds of needs as soon as they arise, keeping our patients at the center of our high-quality care.
One community member was so grateful for the exceptional patient-centered care provided to his family at Penrose’s Intensive Care Unit, he shared:
During this challenging period, your team’s unwavering commitment to Rod’s well-being was impressive to witness firsthand. From the first minutes on the unit, we were reassured by the competence and attentiveness demonstrated by the entire care team. Your team’s ability to provide medical expertise while simultaneously offering comfort and support to our family has made all the difference in our experience.”
Our ability to provide this quality, compassionate care to more families like these is made possible through philanthropy.
